These Trumpetvines are the best plants you can grow to add beauty and attract those adorable hummingbirds and butterflies to your yard! Trumpetvines will grow very fast, up to 15 feet or more in one year, and become covered with trumpet-like
reddish-orange flowers within a few years! Trumpetvines like full sun, a lot of fertilizer and water, which will make them grow fast!
Typically when we ship these, they are dormant stick-like plants, often trimmed back. These can often be shipped during the growing season if they are trimmed back leafless. The roots are thick and often twisted, very different, but fascinating. And always, after inspecting the items, we pack the plants as best we can. Then normally what happens within a couple weeks after planting, they resprout.
How to grow these. Simply stated, these grow best in moist well-drained fertile soils with full sun. Most soils can be alright, but plenty of water and some added fertilizer will improve their growth and survival. If your soils are rocky, heavy clay, or very sandy, then add compost or other materials mixed into the planting spot. Planting instructions are included with each order, or can be read on the Nursery webpage.
Hummingbirds are attracted to red or orange-colored, and the trumpetvine is full of nectar they need! Help hummingbirds... grow flowers! It's easy, and well worth it.
There are 3 ways to order.
1) Use PayPal, and in the Notes section (or by separate email) tell us what you are ordering;
2) Print out the page to mail-in the order;
3) Send us an email with the order information;
Either way you choose... some people like to order one way, others a different method. We try to be flexible...
Important Note: As of 6/23/09, we have changed our ordering methods. For credit cards, use PayPal. PayPal is good, safe, and secure... COPY/PASTE the order information into the Notes section when sending a PayPal payment, then 'send-to' (nursery@cdr3.com). A check or money order works also... Or, we can give you a phone number to call-in your payment information. We will have regular order forms again in the future, just not at the moment. How to:
Simply put the Quantity, Item Code, Item Name, and Price for each item into a Notepad or text document. Total it up, add shipping/handling according to the shipping rate schedule, then email or mail-in the order (with your payment). Use COPY/Paste to copy the items into a Notepad or other text document, that makes it fast and easy.
On the PayPal payment screen, put your order information into the "Notes Section". Then submit your payment. Be sure to include your name and ship-to address, plus any other additional information you want to add.
For Example: Say you want ten of the regular-size Ameri-Willows. Simply do a Copy/Paste of the item information --> ("10 FGT-AW-01 _Ameri-Willow_$6.95ea.") into a text or Notepad document. Then send it to us (via PayPal, email, or postal mail).
All orders are hand-processed, so we read and check over everything. Please make sure all of your information is correct...
Depending on the workload, time of the season, and the ship-to location, shipment generally starts when best able to send, and continues until the items are sold-out or seasonal factors such as the weather halts shipping. The southern states are often shipped earlier, whereas the northern states may be delayed due to frosts or unfavorable weather. Some items ship all year, others have a very limited shipping-opportunity. Always feel free to ask us... We can Book an order early and have it scheduled to ship at a later date, so let us know your needs. We try to get the orders processed and shipped as quickly as possib

Our Standard shipping service is US Priority Mail. We do regularly use Fed-Ex Ground, typically for larger or oversized orders. We do use Fed-Ex Air (Express, 2nd Day, and Overnight), and each rate is determined by Fed-Ex, quoted, and added to the sub-total.
