American Chestnut - The return of a true American beauty! The American Chestnut had been a highly prized tree for
shade, nuts, and its beautiful wood... up until the Chestnut Blight disease all but destroyed this species. Across the eastern half of the country, the native stands were wiped out, but commonly the tree would resprout year after year! Our trees were
grown from a good seed source, reportedly to be disease-resistant, but we can Not guarantee that. Likely, this tree will grow for many years, perhaps into maturity... we can only hope. But the American is a beauty to plant, if even for a short time. They
can grow large, up to 100 feet tall, broad, making it a great shade tree. And if you're lucky, you may get chestnut seeds!
