Shipping Information
Our Standard Shipping & Handling Rate Schedule (09/2/07) -
Our Standard shipping service is Fed-Ex Ground. We do regularly use US Priority Mail, for addresses to post office boxes or rural routes. We do use Fed-Ex Air (Express, 2nd Day, and Overnight), and each rate is determined by Fed-Ex.
Note - We do not ship outside of the USA at this time.
Important Note: We will try to minimize all shipping costs, but we may add surcharges or other fees depending on package parameters. For Fed-Ex Air, Large, Long, or Oversized Boxes, additional fees may be added as per quoted rate information from the package carrier. These fees will vary for each of these package types.

Each of the shipping methods has advantages, and the costs will vary. Because we are shipping live plants, often with leaves and actively growing, it is vital that they arrive quickly and be handled correctly. If you should ever have a problem with your plants, it is most likely due to the package carrier while in transit.
Shipping Options:
"Best Way" - Select this option, and we'll get your order sent the best and most efficient way. We will use our general shipping rate schedule (above), which is typically Fed-Ex Ground, but we may switch to Priority Mail (and visa versa). Depending on the order, package weight and dimensions, the distance to travel, and the time of the season, we will switch between Fed-Ex Ground and Priority Mail. For taller, heavier, or more bulky items, we are more inclined to use Fed-Ex Ground. For packages that are longer or larger, a shipping sur-charge may be added.
US Priority Mail - Typically lower in cost for orders weighing less than 3 pounds, and often better for order totalling under $25. If you use a Post Office Box or Rural Route in your shipping address, then select this. Fed-Ex will not accept these address types. The postal service tries to deliver these packages anywhere in the country in 2-3 days, but delivery may take a week or longer in many cases. You best know your local postal service, so if you have doubts, then do supply us with a street address to ship by other means. Delivery Confirmation and Insurance services are available at cost. Be Forewarned - the greatest number of problems, replacement requests, and complaints, have been because of the time delays and mishandling the packages by the postal service. For taller plants and larger orders, select Fed-Ex Ground or Fed-Ex Air. For packages that are longer or larger, a shipping sur-charge may be added.
Fed-Ex Ground - Our Standard shipping carrier, similar to UPS, packages are sent by ground transportation. Depending on your delivery-zone, the package can take 2 to 7 business-days to reach you. Although packages are not delivered on Saturdays, they typically are in transit. There is no delivery or package movement on Sundays. Fed-Ex requires a street address, so no Post Office Boxes or rural routes. Overall a pretty good service, and each package can be tracked. Insurance can be added. For orders greater than $25, or for tall or bulky items, this is a good choice. We will figure the shipping cost as our basic rate as outlined above, but over-sized boxes and other factors may incur a surcharge.
Fed-Ex Express Saver (Air) - The lowest cost of the Fed-Ex Air services, deliver time is typically 2-3 days. The cost is about the same as UPS 3 Day. Very good delivery and handling. We normally ship on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Fed-Ex does not ship this type package on weekends, but each package can be tracked, and insurance is an option. They do not deliver to Post Office Boxes or Rural Routes. For orders greater than $100, during warm weather, or for immediate delivery, this is a good choice. We will get a quote for the shipping cost based on package weight, its dimensions, and ship-to zip code. The order total will be adjusted accordingly. This service is not offered to all areas.
Fed-Ex 2nd Day (Air)- The cost is about the same as UPS 2nd Day, and they have Very Good delivery and handling. Fed-Ex does not deliver this type package on weekends, unless you want to pay the Saturday delivery fee (not available to most areas). Each package can be tracked, and they have insurance options. They do not deliver to Post Office Boxes or rural routes. For orders greater than $100, and for immediate delivery, this is the Best choice. We normally ship on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. We will get a quote for the shipping cost based on package weight, dimensions, and the ship-to zip code. The order total will be adjusted accordingly.
Fed-Ex Overnight (Air) - The best of all delivery services, for that delicate, "absolutely needed" item, or valuable shipment. This is the way to go, BUT the cost is the highest (for most time-sensitive orders, 2nd day service is just as good, and will cost about half). The cost will be high, but delivery and handling is typically the best! This also will be quoted as mentioned for the other air-delivery services. The order total will be adjusted accordingly.
For all packages that are longer or larger, a shipping sur-charge may be added.
